  • A birdhouse
  • Some 1-inch nails
  • A hammer
  • A brush to paint
  • Oil-based paint with the color of your choice
  • Pieces of steel rebar – 4
  • Pipe clamps – 4
  • L bracket joints – 4

The Process to Build Wooden Pole Stand

  1. Paint the log and flat wood piece with the color of your choice using the brush. You can also use spray paint to complete the process faster. It’s advisable to use a color that matches the theme of your house.
  2. Let the wood log and flat piece dry
  3. Place the flat wood piece on the top side of the log and attach it using the L bracket joints and nails.
  4. Attach the bird box to the wood panel using nails or glue.
  5. Go to the place where you want to install the stand and drive the steel rebar pieces into the ground.
  6. Space the rebar properly so that they touch the 4 sides of the log, and don’t forget to leave about a foot sticking out of the ground.
  7. Insert the log between the steel rebars and connect them using pipe clamps.

  • 1-inch x 10 feet EMT (Electric Metallic Tube)
  • A hook
  • A drill
  • Screws
  • Conduit bender
  • Pieces of steel rebar – 3
  • Pipe clamps – 3
  • A birdhouse

Instructions to Follow

You can find these materials easily from any hardware store, and it won’t cost you more than $10. The whole process is also very easy, except for bending the pole. However, you can use the conduit bender for that purpose.

  1. Use the conduit bender to bend the 10 feet pole 2 feet from the top to 90 degrees angle.
  2. Use the drill to make a hole in the curved end of the pole for the hook.
  3. Attach the hook to the hole securely.
  4. Insert the steel rebar pieces into the ground and secure the pole with them using pipe clamps. You can also drill a hole in your deck railing or a tree by using a spade bit if you want to hold the pole there.
  5. Hang the bird house on the hook.

  • Spray paint the step ladder with the color of your choice.

  • Let the glue dry and take the ladder with the birdhouse to your lawn.
